Time Trials @ FME
Fox Mill Estates
Start: 8:00 AM
Warm-up: 7:30 AM
End: 12:00 PM
(estimated)
What are Time Trials? Time Trials are an opportunity for swimmers to get times in as many strokes as they can in a meet-like setting. Swimmers are encouraged to swim all four strokes and may be asked to swim a stroke that they do not consider their favorite. Coaches would like to see times of their swimmers when they swim the different strokes. All teams in the NVSL (Northern Virginia Swimming League) have Time Trials about a week or two after practice begins and before the first Meet. There is no scoring in Time Trials. The only swimmers attending Time Trials are Fox Mill Estates swimmers. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR SWIMMERS TO OBTAIN TIMES IN AS MANY EVENTS AS POSSIBLE PRIOR TO OUR FIRST MEET. We will have a short period of warm-ups (starting at 7:30am) and then our events will begin at 8:00am. We will aim to be finished by 12:00pm. Where do Swimmers go? Swimmers will be asked to join their fellow teammates in the area around the baby pool. They will be supervised by our coaches and parent volunteers. Parents are encouraged to help time, volunteer with concessions and other volunteer activities. What should swimmers wear? Swimmers should wear their team suit if they have one or other appropriate racing style suit. For the boys, this means no board shorts or trunks. Instead either jammer or brief style suits. For the girls a racing style one piece suit. Swimmers should have swim caps and proper fitting goggles as well. |
